December Greetings!

ree

We invite to you join us at our new location, 3314 Marvin D. Love Freeway, just across CFNI campus. God is doing a new thing and you are part of it!

Beginning Sunday, November 30th we began the four-week season in the Church Calendar called Advent. Advent means "coming". In this time, we will prepare for Jesus' birth while looking ahead to His promised return. We will study four important words: Hope, Peace, Joy, Love.

1. During Advent we will celebrate Jesus' coming to this earth, born as a baby in a manger. What joy! We thank God that Jesus showed us the Father and the Kingdom of Heaven as He taught and healed people. We are so grateful that He gave His life on the cross so that His perfect blood could cover, cleanse, and forgive our sins.

2. In Advent, we also celebrate the coming of Jesus into our personal lives. As we have confessed our sin, asked forgiveness, and made Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior, we can now live in Him and Jesus lives in us, by the power of the Holy Spirit. We walk in victory because after three days in the grave, Jesus Christ rose from the dead. He won the victory over sin, hell, death, and the grave...for us!

3. We anticipate and eagerly look forward to the second coming of Jesus Christ when He will return to take us, the Church- His Bride, to Heaven with Him. The dead in Christ will be raised and living Christians will be caught up to meet the Lord in the air and will be with Him forever! This is a motivation for us to live holy lives and to tell everyone the

GOOD NEWS OF JESUS CHRIST as we prepare for His second coming.

We can celebrate Advent in many ways:

1) Using a special Advent calendar with specific Scriptures to read for each day of Advent. Some calendars also include a special treat for each day. This can be done individually but it is so powerful when families do the Bible readings and pray together.

2)  Lighting a candle in an Advent wreath each day, reading Scriptures and praying together. There is a certain color candle that is to be lit each Sunday and the following weekdays during Advent.

3). Studying in-depth the prophecies about the birth of Jesus, the names of Jesus in the Bible, and the return of Christ Jesus, our King.

4) Focusing on developing a deeper relationship with our Savior, Jesus Christ by spending more time with Him, worshiping Him, journalingScriptures and writing what He speaks to us.

5) Learning to share Jesus with other people by spending time with them, praying for them, telling our testimony, leading them to salvation, and giving gifts to meet their needs.

Let's celebrate Advent together at our new church location. We will be forever changed in His Presence.

Have a joyful, holy time celebrating Christ Jesus our Lord!

In His Love,

Pastor Rayanna
